Life offers us many opportunities for growth, healing and advancement. Sometimes, it doesn’t feel that way, especially when we’re in those dark nights of the soul. Ultimately, as I look back on my life, I know that all those extraordinary challenges were indeed opportunities to step into whom I’m meant to be now and what I’m called to do – to contribute to people’s lives, to help those in need, to be a responsible steward of this breathtaking planet, and to share God’s message of love, hope and grace.
When I was a young child, I discovered the satisfaction and fun in helping others. In fact, it was so much fun that I created my own “clubs” to help others and even the environment. There were “clean up clubs” (picking up garbage around the block), “friends of the furry” club (animals), “new student club” (helping new students feel more at ease in their first week at a new school), and so on.
Later in life, I realized there were many other groups, organizations, and eventually careers I could be involved in to further my passion to create a harmonious community through meaningful relationships and the application of God’s gifts in service to a greater good. This doesn’t mean I’m perfect, or that I have all the answers – not at all. What I mean by this is that through all the disappointments, trials, pain and losses, what I discovered was the peace, joy and liberation that came from instrumental practices, key principles, and most importantly, love – and it would be a privilege to share that with you.
Thinking outside of the context of what was going on allowed me to develop and grow in ways that I never thought was possible. I’m grateful, so very grateful for the mentors, true friends, and wise teachers who spoke into my life during those times, and during the good times, to those who also encouraged me and cheered me onwards.
As an entrepreneur, I began a career in the 1980s in a few small business ventures and excelled in the real estate industry in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. In the late 1990’s my son and I moved to the United States where I established and grew several other successful businesses that provided marketing, strategy and systems development, personal and professional consulting, and strategic partnerships to small and large corporations around the country.
After pursuing graduate education in psychology and the natural health fields, and establishing a successful private health and wellness practice in California, which I sold in 2008, it was time to stretch and step into another arena of service – social entrepreneurship. I am called to find, establish and grow businesses and organizations that marry economics and humanity together in sustainable, quantifiable, trackable, and predictable ways to ensure the growth and success of that initiative. It truly is the win/win/win for all.
It is in our inherent values, intentions, and alliances with socially responsible visions and missions that will propel us not just to “success’ as we typically define this, but “success” as a community, nation and brotherhood around the world.
I’m a visionary, a strategizer, a creative thinker, an organizer, a speaker, a brainstormer, an educator, an encourager. My formal education, spiritual training, a tremendous amount of life experience, and my sincere passion to help people live extraordinary lives, prosper through chaos, lead under pressure, be a forerunner able to take advantage of unseen opportunities, and deliver results while fulfilling their dreams and calling may be able to help you and/or someone you know too.
The most important thing is to NOT give up. Do not get bitter, and do not shut your heart down. The brilliance of all that we know first comes from the heart. We can do it together! Manna for Life is here to help.
